In today's tutorial I'll show you how to upholster a chair in formica with a unique and personalized touch: the adhesive paper! The beauty of one DIY chair this is it, can't you find?

What do you need

How do

  1. First, unscrew the back of the chair with a screwdriver and gently remove it to make it easier to apply the adhesive paper. When you are done, proceed in the same way with the session.
  2. Now clean both surfaces with a damp cloth or a not too aggressive product.
  3. At this point, you can start taking the measurements of the back and seat by placing your adhesive paper on it and remembering to add about half an inch more!
  4. When performing this operation, you can help yourself with a pencil by drawing the outline directly on the adhesive paper.
  5. Then, with the help of a scissor or a cutter, cut out the paper. I recommend: make sure the cut part covers the entire surface.
  6. At this point, you can start removing a few centimeters of film and place it on both surfaces. Begin to attack it slowly, for example by helping yourself with a credit card type card to avoid the formation of bubbles.
  7. Once you have finished, remove the excess paper with the cutter and then you can re-tighten the back and seat to your chair.

And voila ... you're done and your vintage style chair is ready!
